{"id":322,"date":"2016-03-05T09:13:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-05T09:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/afp.hol.es\/?p=322"},"modified":"2015-03-08T11:56:47","modified_gmt":"2015-03-08T11:56:47","slug":"exercising-and-the-weekend-heroes-what-not-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/afp.hol.es\/?p=322","title":{"rendered":"Exercising and the Weekend Heroes &#8211; What Not to Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>When many people approach exercising and going to the gym, they &#13;<br \/>\ntry to be weekend heroes. This is where someone who has not done any &#13;<br \/>\nexercise in the past couple of years, tries to go to the gym one random &#13;<br \/>\nweekend and basically kill themselves. They try and go run 5 miles, &#13;<br \/>\nfollowed by an hour cycling class, and then go play 30 minutes of &#13;<br \/>\nbasketball were their favorite sport. When this is all over, the person &#13;<br \/>\nis wiped out. They start thinking for themselves, exercises difficult &#13;<br \/>\nand I&#8217;m just not made for it. Most of these people don&#8217;t ever realize &#13;<br \/>\nthey went about doing things the wrong way.<\/p>\n<p>Using common sense &#13;<br \/>\nwhile you exercise is also very important. Exercising can be a key into &#13;<br \/>\nunderstanding your body and what&#8217;s wrong with it. Zig Ziglar tells a &#13;<br \/>\nstory about when he was jogging and doing his normal exercise routine in&#13;<br \/>\n 1993 and suddenly noticed a painting of his chest. His first &#13;<br \/>\ninclination was to ignore it, but he knew better. He immediately called &#13;<br \/>\nhis doctor and told him what was wrong. He went in to do a treadmill &#13;<br \/>\ntest and again felt the tightness in his chest. It turns out he had a &#13;<br \/>\n50% blockage in a major artery and a 90% blockage in a small artery in &#13;<br \/>\nhis heart. And he ignored this, he would probably not be alive today. By&#13;<br \/>\n taking a few simple steps, he was actually able for verse what had &#13;<br \/>\nhappened. There are a lot of health risks that come with &#13;<br \/>\nconstant jogging. The body is not made to withstand that kind of &#13;<br \/>\npounding on its knees for a long period of time. You may know some &#13;<br \/>\npeople that have dogs for years with no problems, but this is not the &#13;<br \/>\ncommon factor that happens. Many people develop a loss of cartilage from&#13;<br \/>\n the constant pounding over the years from jogging. Walking at a fast &#13;<br \/>\npace is much more beneficial than jogging.<\/p>\n<p>When you think about &#13;<br \/>\nthis, it is really just common sense. It really surprises me how &#13;<br \/>\nuncommon common sense really is. Many people do not listen to their &#13;<br \/>\nbodies were think about the implications of what they are doing and how &#13;<br \/>\nit will impact their body.
